ALO Rocks the Coach House in
Funk-rock flooded from the main stage at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano Sunday night with big names such as author Marti Melville mingling with the audience for a night of blues and funk.
San Juan Capistrano, CA (February 12, 2012): Sunday evening rocked a host of talent from the indie band industry, gathered in one of Southern California’s best band venues, the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, located near the beach on Camino Capistrano Road . The event was only one of the stops made by ALO during their month-long “Tour D’Amour”, an annual circuit run benefitting the non-profit organization, Music in Schools Today. Their mission is to bring music education to kids in schools throughout America and ALO is supportive of that mission. Proceeds from the sales of their shows go toward Music in Schools Today.
“This is a very worthy cause and a great excuse to spend an evening with ALO,” said author, Marti Melville who was in the audience that night.
Taking the stage with ALO was Nicki Blum and the Gramblers as the preshow. Food and beverage was plentiful as the Nicki belted her sultry western voice to a mix of country-rock tunes akin to Linda Ronstadt and Skynyrd. The mood was set and audience ready for more as the highlight for the evening took the stage.
ALO surprised and delighted waiting fans for more than an hour with new songs and familiar hits, such as “Maria”. The encore-demanding audience got what they wanted as ALO returned to the stage to rock the house again with two additional songs.
“This was an enthusiastic crowd and we had a great time being part of it,” commented Melville.
Melville, who has recently relocated to Southern California, has written a series of novels flavored with the adventures of salty pirates, a perfect fit for the Coach House ambiance. Recently noticed by the film industry, Melville’s first novel is slated for feature film soon to be produced.
With only one more stop on their tour this month, ALO plans to end the Tour D’ Amour in style scheduling their final show at the Fillmore in San Francisco. It is anticipated tickets will be sold out for this venue so fans are encouraged to plan ahead and get their tickets early.
